Shanna grew up fiddling, competing and performing throughout the Northwest. She studied music at Boise State University where she earned a bachelors degree in Violin Performance. Shanna has been teaching privately for 15 years and has a private studio of 30 students, she is also an instructor for the Idaho Junior Jammer Fiddlers.

Shanna's son Dylon, started playing the fiddle at age 3. He is the 2011 Idaho Open Small-fry Champion, Northwest Regional SF Champion, and recently placed 3rd in the national fiddle competition held each year in Weiser, Idaho. He is also a member of the Idaho Junior Jammers.
